Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

VERY ANGRY

well i spoke to the bus assistant today and she told me that the woman involved in the afternoons is really nice and she is not allowed to touch the children, first I've heard of this by the way. She said that Jessica was probably put on the bus like that and now that the escort knows what way she's suppose to be on the bus then she'll make sure she's put on the bus like that. BUT i don't think that's good enough, she couldn't been strangled, and there excuse would be we couldn't touch her. I told the escort this morning that its not good enough, its common sense if you see a child being hurt you help. I am very angry still and i don't know what to do, what if it was the teachers fault in the first place i can't blame the bus escort as she thought this is how she went in her pram (idiot). AAAARRRRGGGGGGGGG.

thats not good enough!Angry
i would agree its bloody common sense! i'm sure not being able to touch the children doesn't mean leave them to be choked by a strap?
i too would be very angry, hope you get something sorted and those plonkers learn how to treat children.

HI

I wouldn't be happy either with the response you have had, i would take it further! there have been times where i have hounded and hounded the transport section because i know whats best for my child as you do, Joe has gone on a bus this time round he been use to a taxi last few yrs, he is struggling to get on the bus i had to tell them to get the step out to get him in he was expected to just get on with no step!! There is also a policy that no eating or drinking is allowed but the driver asked if he was ok for a 'jelly' i felt i couldnt say no as other children would be eating them just going see how it goes over the next week dont' really want him eating sweets as we have got him on to healthy eating buti dont think its fair if there is other children on that bus who are not allowed to eat!!

Sorry didnt realise how much id put lol

The bus that she gets in the afternoon is different from the morning one (the AM one are fantastic). The assistant also let Nicole out of her seat and instead of holding on to her, she let go and she ran to the door, my hubby saw this happening and he ran to her, if she had of tried to get off the bus she would've fallen quite a distance and hurt herself. I'm waiting on Jessica's teacher calling me back, hopefully she will today or i'll have to let this anger stew on until tomorrow.

Hope that Jessica's teacher phoned you back, My son's escort and transport are really good. Maybe have a word with the transport company

1. Why was she travelling in her Pram? especially if it is not anchored but the escorts have a Duty of Care report it too the people who supply the escorts:Exclamation
