VERY ANGRY

I spoke to the teacher and OT. The OT is going to get a abduction block for the pram, to make sure she doesn't slip down again. The teacher said she'll have a word with them. The OT stated that they won't do it again as they know now what they do. I told her that it shouldn't be a case of oops it won't happen again kind of attitude, Jessica could've choked to death and Nicole could have fallen and broke something. I told her that everyone that has had contact with Nicole knows that she cannot be left alone and this should have been made clear to this person to make her safe. But basically she dismissed it as well. So i'm going to speak to the normal bus helper and driver tomorrow and ask for advice on how to go further with this. Lucy she has different drivers because the morning driver has to do a different run in the afternoon, don't ask me why cause they didn't tell me until the first day back (yesterday). I still don't know the assistants name, we were suppose to ask today but i just wanted to get away from her and see to Jessica. I have never had any trouble for the past three years with the school and transport. SO it was very strange to call up and complain, i was absolutely fuming. ![]() Stacy ![]() ![]() Mother to Terry 11 MLD + ADHD, Nicole 9 Cri-du-chat Syndrome ADHD Asthma GDD Coarctation, Jessica 4 Cri-Du-Chat Syndrome GDD Reflux |

if this is the first time you have had this transport you should have had a letter from the council stating who would be the company and who the escort is going to be. it sounds to me like they council dont know that there are 2 different buses and escorts running that route as i have never heard of this happening before but do know that some bus/taxi companies seem to think once they have the tender they can twist the routes and children to whatever makes them the most money.
that is wrong they cant do that, i have had it tried on me a couple of times and i ended up phoning the education transport manager at the council quite a few times until it was sorted to my satisfaction. fortunatly for me my problems werent anywhere near as bad as what has happened but they changed sons driver and escort for a fave because they had lost their contract where our old ones had kept theirs and i soon found out why they had lost their route and if the driver hadnt had a heart attack and retired i would have had his job anyway for shouting at the Children (had a neighbour witness him shouting at more than one child and he admitted to shouting at matt). you want to find out if the escort is trained as well as a lot of them just tend to be a family member, they have improved a lot over the years at least round here have had some fun over the years sorting things out hehehe hope things are better in the morning corinne There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will.. this dosnt make for good reading iam already worried about putting my son on the school bus and seeing him go off into the distance alone! iam used to dropping off at the school door, even seeing child into the cloakroom and hanging the coat up. how will i know if hes ok? if hes had a good day? it will be the same on the journey back he wont be coming back with the teachers. although i have had all the info on what company are transporting him, the time to expect pick up and even the escort has phoned me to ask if she needs to know anything about alex his ways, likes, dislikes or habits she has been happy in her work for the last 15 years and even the bus driver has a son with special needs. roll on monday morning fingers crossed
I never thought it would happen to me. |

The buses are from the education board. Nicole has been getting the school bus for 3 years now and i have never had a problem with the morning people, there actually very nice with us and the girls. It is only the afternoon ones i don't like, I'll talk to them in the morning and see about putting in a formal complaint.

sorry lexie,
you have to remember that the problems that crop up are few and far between, matt has been having buses for 14 years and in all that time we had maybe 3 or 4 issues usually just after a new contract, the only one when he was young was the transport decided to swap matt and another child around on the buses and matt bit the escort when she stuck her arm in his face cause she couldnt be bothered to get off her butt to put his seat belt on, i told her it served her right and if anyone stuck their arm in my face i couldnt guarrantee i wouldnt bite them either hehe, it took one phone call to get him back to right transport and it transpired that other child was blind and he didnt cope well with new bus but fortunatly the escort he had was matts who was lovely and was with him for years (still asks my friend about him and matt likes to scare her by banging on window of bus when she reading a book as she takes some other students to college that matt goes to) we have had quite a few different escorts and there are more good ones than bad. the fact that the escort has been doing it for fifteen years and phoned you up to ask questions bodes well as sounds like you dropped on a good un, you can always get a home/school book and ask them to fill in any problems and get the school to do the same (might only be done for a few weeks unless u call up to remind them as its easy to forget )do bear in mind that the bus might be a few mins late on first day as they cant practice how long a journey will take until they have picked all the Children up and same dropping off so no pacing the floor a minute after they due to drop em off
