hi ya i know what ure going through my daughter who is 6 now was reconised as special needs at nursary and thats when they started the IEPs she is now in year 2 of school and going through the long process of statmenting she will have it by march next year hopefully it takes soo long before it even goes to pannel the first time as they have to gather all the information and they need to make sure that its going to be accepted thats why they take so long otherwise u might have to start from scratch again once ure through the first part then it takes about a year or so after going to pannel and more info being gathered so just hold on in there it does take time but u will get there in the end |

Another useful contact for people with statements is IPSEA they are an independent organisation specialising in educational issues such as SENS.

how did she cope in nusery? they could have started the statement process. what does her doctor say? my daughters statement was completed in about 6 weeks so it can move fast if the education board want it to. i know i keep saying this (maybe daniel should let me have it as a sig) have you contacted the parent partnership they would beable to help. i didnt think i needed their help as i was sure i knew what i was doing and assumed the school would stay true to their word but sadly they havent. i dont want to be the bad guy but the school are neglecting my sons educational needs at the end of the day.
