Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Hi, I rang the parent partnership and they started mine for my son, you could see if they have one in your area, they will either help you fill out your bit by phone or will come and see you to do it. They will ask you who is involved with your son and then they fill out the forms and send them to you to sign and send back, school will have to fill them out quite quickly as they only have a set time to do this. I have 2 sons with fragile x so if there's anything you want to know I'll try to answer. x

Hi, it took 3months each with my 2, but it just depends who you get and what area you are. My sister just got her little girl tested and it took 6wks and she lives in the same area as me, also I've heard from someone that they wait for a few samples to be tested at the same time to save money but I don't know how true this is. Sorry can't help more.
