The pines comes highly recomended and we know a family that attends there and also a work placement staff member there and they speak very highly. Although they dont just specialise in ASD and have other children with other health issues there. ![]() Our Irish members can also use our new website for Ireland which is |

it is better to view other schools as schools that just specialise in autism arent always the best as they can be very regimented (in my experience) while schools that have a mixture of children are more relaxed but still have the learning techniques to teach them in a comfortable way

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will.. So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future. |

Ive also heard the other view that its best to go to a school that specialises so they understand better. ![]() Our Irish members can also use our new website for Ireland which is |

we have a school here that has an autistic unit and for years it was the place to go if your child was autistic it was all i heard when ppl knew about matthew lol. i went to visit when matt was about 13 as the head at the time (well less said about her lol) told me to. it didnt have the laughter or warmth of matts school and since i went they have been sending autistic Children with more behavioural problems from the unit to matts old school because they know how to cope with them after spending time with matthew
so it prob depends on the actual school rather than what they specialise in. you will get good autistic schools the same as you get good mixed needs schools.corinne
