Hello again!
. Nope, not yet, Ed psych had a meet with us, basically said she thought he should go to Speech & Language as he doesn't have significant learning difficulties and his language is the main barrier. I have many other concerns, especially his behaviour. I'm the one who's considering the unit attached to the school. There's been a meeting with the City Panel and then there will be another one in March, his review should be round about then I hope!

the best thing to do would be to go and visit a unit and see, as you would be able to get a feel then id they could help him or not. My daughter is 4 and a half and has autism, when she was in nursery we were considering a speech and language unit and were told by the nursery they dont think it would be suitable for her, but then by somebody else involved with her that it would. She is in mainstream school now but is not doing very well, we have had a look at one special school that specialises in autism and i personally loved it, over the next couple of weeks we are going to see another special school and hopefully a speech and language unit too, but the only worry i have for my daughter about a unit is that most schools here at least with a unit attached are big schools, the school she is at now is 30 children per year group so its a very small school but she isnt coping even with that, so really it would depend on alot of things. My daughter also has selective mutism and so we have been told there would be no point sending her to a unit as its not the sort of thing they deal with.
