Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

I would sit down and think what specific areas did the report mention? Were they areas that the school wouldn't notice or be concerned about. A speech and language expert would be looking into different areas so I would imagine the school won't be looking for the same signs as the school are. I think it is natural to be concerned it is part of being a parent and I too would be concerned especially if it was something I wasn't noticing myself. Are they things you wouldn't notice or you haven't noticed or is it something you have been aware of?

Maybe sit down with the report read it through and see if you agree with the concerns in it. Or if you can see any of the concerns when you sit and really think about it. The next thing to do could be to call the speech therapist and ask them to discuss he findings with you and then take the report to the school and ask them if they feel it is accurate. Hope this helps a little Big Grin

Will I EVER stop having to fight for my son to have what he NEEDS!? Huh

may be the school dont notice the problems as much as the speech therapist does
but i would be concerned
it sounds like you could do with a sit down talk with speech therapist
and find how much delayed she is (in months )
then it gives you a better picture how far behind she is
also get some advice and ideas how to help her improve

i know how you feel my daughter has global d delay /severe leaning disability
and she behind on her speech as well
if there somthing you dont understand on anything always ask the
therapist
the therapist who my daughter under are always there all
ive got to do is phone them up if any concerns

hope everything goes well Smile
