So angry at Teddys school
cheapsensorytoys
Well......Teddy attends a special needs school part-time and I home school him part-time. We've been doing this for the past 2yrs. Anyway, Teddy has always had an issue with school, he basically doesnt' enjoy it very much and doesn't seem to get alot from school. Now, since I've been doing the flexi-schooling a few teachers have been less than receptive but hey ho, it's up to me, I know what works best for my child.

To cut a long story short, Teddy doesn't speak but is very good at Makaton and this is one of his ways of communicating. A few weeks ago a teacher had a sheep on her jumper, Teddy showed me and he signed sheep, the teacher then said "No Teddy" and signed cowHuh, I said "No you signed cow, Teddy did the correct sign for sheep" She then very rudely said "well I will have to check that because I think you are wrong". A few days later another teacher said " we are trying to teach Teddy the sign for Jam, and she signed the letter J" I said " this is the sign for Jam and Teddy can already sign this", with that she walked of very flustered. Now, the week before half term, I picked Teddy up from school on Monday afternoon and when I got him home he needed his nappy changed, to my utter dismay he still had the same nappy on that I'd sent him to school in, it was sopping wet. I know it's the same nappy as I send in different nappies to school. Anyway, went in had a meeting and complained about the nappy and the lack of signing. Thought all would be ok. He went back to school today, very reluctantly. I picked him up and he was missing his jumper (this was the 2nd one they'd lost). I went back in to see if someone could find it, they went to find his teacher. Anyway as I was waiting I felt Teddys nappy and it was sopping again, low and behold it was the same nappy that I'd put on him at 8.30 in the morning, it was now 3.15pm. Well you can imagine, I was livid, it actually bought me to tears I was so angry. I voiced my anger and his teacher didn't know what to say. No one apologised, I was totally gobsmacked. He's not going into school tomorrow and now I'm seriously thinking of home-schooling him full-time. Do any mums/dads on here home-school their child full-time, advice and help most welcome. Sorry for such the long rant Blush

oh dear hunni thats awfull. you have every right to be angry and i dont blame you for complaining. if you cant reolve it and do go down the home schooling route i am pretty sure we do have a few other members that have/do homeschool their children who might be able to offer advise. Also, its been discussed on here before, heres the thread Smile http://www.parentsofdisabledchildren.co....t-475.html hope that helps xx

Hi,
The whole situation is not right but home schooling will be a big commitment.
In terms of the current situation is he statmented or school actioned?
Is the personal care documented?
