cheap sensory toys

Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

HI there im new to this site so hope I do things right!!
My daughter, who is 11 years, has severe autism and has been in special school since 3 years she is due to transfer to secondary special school in september 2010. We have finally got her a place at he school we wanted but that only happened after we fought for it and began tri unal action. But the problem is now that the LA are saying the school they want to send her too is suitable to cater for her needs but because we feel the school isnt suitable and have choosen one 16 miles away, they have made a place available but it is under 'parental preference' so no transport is provided.

We still want to go to tribunal as we want her to go to this school because it is the best school for her to go to and are trying to explain this to tribunal but the LA have made a damn good job of twisting and wording things but we want them to agree that this is the best school for her to attend. The funnisest thing about it all is that the school the LA want her to go to is a minutes walk away from our home...so cant they understand we are doing this for a reason as if we thought the school they want is suitable we would send her there and not to one 16 miles away.

Any advice would be great

Thanks......
