School end of term discussion
cheapsensorytoys
Each week im going to start asking a general question in a variety of topics and subjects all with the intention of sparking a discussion and getting views about various subjects.
It will be a new weekly fixture here Smile

Right its nearly the end of term and in some parts its already come.
Something thats never really crossed my mind before as its not something ive ever really though about so i thought lets make it an open discussion and see whats what....

How does your child cope with the end of school term and the new class enviroment and new teachers?

Is it a bad thing for your child?

Are you parents dreading it or maybe secretly looking forward to having a new class teacher as the last one didnt understand you or your childs needs?

How has your child coped previously?

Discuss................[/i]

Tough call daniel.

Last year my Sam was in 1/2 day nursery as you know, and in all fairness hes teacher wasnt the greatest and never realy had time for Sam and hes individual needs. & i found he wasnt learning a thing.

Were as this year hes been in full time nursery (as he was kept back a year and should realy be in reception) I have found hes current teacher has yet more time for him (She use to work with disabled children so has a better understanding of him) and think that ever since Samuel entered her class he has imporved loads.
i also realy like hes 1-2-1 support tutor, shes lovely but i dont think she is strong enough to tackle Sam and hes caring needs sometimes as shes more of the soft touch person.

Sam will be going into reception in septemeber with a new teacher and new 1-2-1 tutor and i can honestly say im regretting it!
& if i had it my way i would proberbly keep him with hes current teacher now.

With regards to settleing in? Sam didnt settle wel into 1st year of nursery but in fairness it was new to him, as for the 2nd year he loves it but can only realy communicate with 1 little girl there called 'Katie' as the others dont seem to bond with Sam wer as Katie has made her own special little bond with him so im just hoping Katie goes in hes new class to..

But the last years children use to all call him 'baby sam' as they cudnt understand hes talking and he was the smallest of the bunch. (hes the same size as most this year but still smaller than some and hes the eldest and nearly 6 lol) x

i am embarrassed to say i had forgotten that matt will be going up a class in sept Blush until it was mentioned here, and even worse i dont know what happens regarding new teachers or whatever, he doesnt use his 1:1 much so think that will stay same but never even thought to ask when we went for review the other week but as he has coped brilliantly with a new school/college and knows most of the teachers as he insists on saying hello to them all (and wont leave till he has said goodbye to one particular female teacher Angel) i think he will be fine

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
