Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education,acess to services,respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Did you approach the Local Authority about a statement at all?
As many parents are not aware they can request one direct from the LEA!

im also having problems with my sons school both my youngest boys are both fed via tube i feed them first thing in the mornig before school sometime there machines would block and this is time comsuming which makes them late for school the school just not understanding at all Sad ive decided to take both my boys out f school and home school them

i had trouble getting the original statement so went up the civic centre without an appointment and told them i would wait to see someone ...they told me it would be a long wait so i pulled out a massive book and told them i would wait lol.just keep on bugging them they give in if lea no good try local mp.good luck

Its strange how the schools seem to make judgements about statements when in reality an assesment should be undertaken to see if one is needed by the ED PHYCH!
