Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Micro array and generics councellor

Hi nat and my special boy,

Thanks so much for your responses, makes me feel not so alone.

Felix is 3 and he's got severe speech and language delay, global develop delay amongst others. He's got mild Dysmorphic features, wide smile, wide bridge of
Nose, small head 5th percentile, small eyelids and large ears, also partially webbed toes. So that's probably why we've been referred to see a councillor. So far fragile x and MRI came back fine, so we are waiting on the main chromsome tests (6 months ago), but they do not expect to find anything as its quite a basic test.

Thanks for letting me know what to expect, I think it's going to be a long process

Thanks Kelly
