Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

How long did you wait for results
cheapsensorytoys
Hi,
Well I've had an update from the consultant today and the 20 weeks has now changed to .... 28 weeks for results, she was very apologetic, I know it's not her fault at all. The lab had some redundancies this year in birmingham that's why it's so long! Oh well it doesn't change a thing for felix I suppose, but leaves no
Closure for me. Thanks for your support Kelly xx

When they test for chromosome disorders i dont think it shows if you have micro-deletions,if this test comes back normal i dont think it rules a chromosome disorder out, as i think my daughter had this test done when we first see a doctor and came back normal, but she has a deletion of chrom 15 a small part of it (Angelman syndrome)is deleted which we needed a different test for.
