We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Changes to working Tax Credit Hours
cheapsensorytoys
Hello

I am not sure if everybody is aware of the changes coming into place as of the 6 April 2012. If you are a couple, (this does not effect single parents, or those in receipt of a Disability benefit), you will have to work 24 hours between you. So those families were only one person works 16-23 hours, they will no longer be entitled to Working Tax Credit. As this effects me and the fact that I am a carer in receipt of DLA for my son, it makes no difference and either I or my husband will have to get a further 8 hours to qualify. We have both tried to get more hours but in this current climate it has been impossible. I thought I would mention it on here because there seems to be quite a lot of people not aware of these changes.

Best wishes.

If u are after a way to get hours but not much money you could try being an Avon rep Wink I registered as self employed as a rep but only earn about £500 a year after expenses but it worked out with dropping off, packing nd the rest it averaged about 6 hours a week and that's with a small area

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

##Thanks for the idea Corinne, we need 8 more hours to be to qualified so you have given me something to think about.
