Can walkers hinder the ability to balance?
cheapsensorytoys
Hello,

Due to cerebellum hypoplasia my daughter is unable to balance properly when in a standing position. There has been a sudden deterioration as six months ago she walking completely independently. Her problems with walking now are to due to her brain having trouble with communicating with her limbs where they are in relation to each and where they need to be for her to balance. Her physio wants her to use a walker. Though this will be good for her independence I am worried that it will encourage her to not put her body into the correct posture for balancing and therefore hinder her from 'relearning' this. Has anybody else faced the same problem? And if you have how did you decide what was best in the long run?

Thank you.
