disability premium tax credits
cheapsensorytoys
Hi, I was told we should be getting a disabled premium included in our child tax credits but we don't Confused

I did inform them that our son was awarded high rate care but nothing has been added.

Does anyone know if this is true & if so how much the weekly increase is supposed to be?

Thanks in advance!

Hi, I called the tax office when my son was granted DLA high rate care and then they backdated it to the DLA award date (Don't know if they can do this if you were awarded more then three months ago). I am a single mum with one child and I then got the Disabled premium added which I think you get if they get middle-high rate care and then another premium added because he is severely disabled (getting high rate care DLA).

Call the tax office again they don't need proof as they check direct with DLA.

Will I EVER stop having to fight for my son to have what he NEEDS!? Huh

just to warn you there 2 rates to this
for middle or lower you get £2715
for higher i think you get £1095 on top
but you have to let them know if you drop from higher down to middle or lower care

Thank you! have been on the phone to them yesterday and it seems they may owe us a tidy sum (if they sort it out) as they have the details there but never applied them!

Hope it gets sorted now!
