British Gas Disability tariff
|

Just been on the phone with British Gas over a billing issue and quite out of the blue they asked if there was anyone with a disability in the household as if they are in receipt of DLA I can be put on a lower rate tariff. They gave me a phone number to ring but thought Id ask here first as the telephone rep couldn't tell me much more about it. Is anyone here on this lower tariff? Do I really qualify or are there other criteria? |

Its called the Essentials Tariff.
You have to have someone in the house on DLA but the overall income into the house has to be less than £18,000. They include any housing, council tax and mobility payments you get. If you phone them they will ask you all your incomes etc, including all the benefits and you need to know rough how much you get for each so if you do ring make sure you have it all to hand. |

Hi just to let you all know that british gas have their own charity and will pay your arrears if you have a large bill also. |
