i sent an e-mail to my local council about the blue badge as Ben only gets low rate moblity, and was told that Each Blue Badge application is assessed according to the requirements of the person for whom it is intended and have been told to apply for one. They did say it would help if i could get some supporting edvience so might get my GP or ben's support worker to write a letter. |

Hi, our daughter gets low rate on mobility but has been awarded a blue badge about a yr ago. She has Autism and Crohns Disease......not sure if she was awarded because of the Autism or Crohns or because of both!!!!
It is a really big help for us as when she has a meltdown our car is nearby and don't have to carry her across a busy car park and also due to very loose stools we are able to get her back to the car faster. I filled in the form and then they wrote to our GP asking for evidence, we had a decision within 10 days. Good Luck. Things can be hard on occasions but well worth it!

My daughter got hers when she was three months old, I assume the application was supported by the GP. If I had listened to everyone else I would never have applied as they said it was pointless. No one was more shocked than me when it arrived. You never know unless you try.
