Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education,acess to services,respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Speak of the devil and all that, our DLA award landed on the doorstep this morning, our award for both care and mobility have been set until Emma is 10, so we don't have to worry for the next 7 years. Off out to the Ford dealers now to order our new car! Smile I suppose it will make a big difference, compared to the 10 year old Renault Megane we are driving!

i have put in for high rate mobility 2weeks ago for my daughter got a letter back saying may take 11 weeks to sort it.filled the 2 parts of form because I didn't no that I could have just put no change on other forms. physiotherapist filled in her part now have long weight to see if she gets it so I can go for mobility car for her.Take my driving test on the 26th of this month thanks to FAMILY FUNDExcercise

Wow well done, i am getting someone to come and help me fill the forms as my son has been turned down 3 times already. so hopefully with the right help he will get it. Fingers crossed??
