with the amount of ppl who your son is under i dont think you will need a diagnosis to apply for dla, they will ask for names of professionals who know about his illness and looks like you have a few to choose from, at the end of the day you have to do a lot more for him than a child the same age and he has a long term illness which is one of the criteria. next time the community nurse comes out ask if she will help you to fill the forms in as they can be a bit daunting

As the other members have correctly stated the dla can write to your specialists and gain the information required.
You will not need a diagnosis in order to claim as Dla is based on care needs alone and not a formal diagnosis. ![]() Our Irish members can also use our new website for Ireland which is |
