Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Playing the waiting game now
cheapsensorytoys
I finally submitted Noah's DLA claim just under two weeks ago. Took me ages to wade through (thanks for all the help guy's Blush)
Now we just sit and wait?
Will the automatically contact the people I put down on the form? or does it depend on wether they need extra input other than the supporting evidence that was submitted from healthcare people?

Sometimes they dont contact doctors etc whereas on most applications they do.
So they will most likely write to them.

I put my claim in about 7 weeks ago, after 4 weeks I received a letter from them stating that they were dealing with my claim Huh
How long does this normally take?

Claims vary so much.
Somebody here recently had a decesion in 9 DAYS Big Grin
Whereas the typical waiting time is around 11 weeks.
So anytiime before this you should hear.
Its only delayed usually where they are waiting for reports of the proffesionals
