Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Glad to be of some help. I did think that same thing as yourself, "why do I have to fill the care bit in again".
We hear in about 3 weeks so hope you dont have to wait to long to hear. But then like us you have a few months to wait till you can do anything with it.

Love Sara and Sophie xxxxxx

sara, have you got the award letter? they allowed us to pre-order our car before euan was 3 so that we could pick it up as soon as he was 3! we ordered it about 6weeks before and it was ready and waiting after about 4 weeks! its just aslong as you have the award letter

Hello hope it all goes well.

Did you know that if you have trouble getting the deposit together that you can apply to motability for A grant for financial help also they work out a compulsory contribution for you to pay ours works out as only £380. when we receive the car, I must admit it has been a nightmare as my son is having big adaptations to a SPV standard production vehicle and we can still change this car in 3 years time, which is ok, as his specially adapted seat and wheelchair hoist goes from car to cark, now we are changing things slightly as weve been told he will be wheelchair bound when reaching 12 years of age so we have now added a wheelchair base that when the adult/child seat comes out of the car it can be transferred onto the wheelchair base and becomes a wheelchair, brilliant idea.
