Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

The above article spells out some of our new government's thinking and how it will affect families in a benefit situation. There are a few nasty surprises!

the comment A Department of Work and Pensions spokesman said: “Hard working individuals and families will no longer have to subsidise people living in properties they themselves could not afford.” is ridiculous, the only properties in stoke (and we are classed as a ****hole Big Grin) that are £70 a week are flats or council houses or just under anyway, the house next door to me is an x council house classed as a terrace as its part of a row of 4 houses with 3 bedrooms is £460 so just what is a family to live in?
makes me glad i in a council house though i do agree that they shouldnt be subsidising families living in 7 bed mansions like they put in the newspapers but they shouldnt drop it that much and it should depend on the family as like many on here there is going to be adults that are not "working"
corinne

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.

We live in the scab on wales bum here in Flint but council rents here are over 75 a week for a 3 bed house, private is 90 plus for a 2 bed so I can see a lot of problems............ cant wait to win the lottery!

I'm in a private rent (Bolton), in a 2-up, 2-down, it's £95 a week. I've been on the council housing list and applying for houses for 5 years now. I'll get there one day, maybe when the Children have flown the nest!

But you wont be able to keep the house once the Children leave..... they are saying that either you pay for underoccupying the house or get thrown out!
