Hi there Tasha and Lara-Leigh,
My little boy Aaron is 2 and hes been having eye tests since he was about 6 months old he does get a bit upset but they do try and make it as fun as poss, he has to have a couple of eye drops in to widen the pupils so they can see right to the back and then they do some really simple little tests as quick as they can, hes actually got one tomorrow, as for the brain scan they probably will pop her to sleep for a little while as they need them to be as still as possible to make sure they get all the right views, hope this has helped you a little bit I know it can be stressful but chin up and you'll both be great. All the best, Marie |

Hi,
my little boy Jack has yearly brain scans as he has hydrocephalus and he stays awake as he thinks its thomas the tank engines tunnel (well thats what we told him) and all they do is strap his head still and i hold his hand and its over in a few mins. But if they dont keep still they can sedate the children. Jack has been sedated a couple of times when he was poorly and he was home the same day he only slept for a couple of hours. Hope that helps xxx |
