Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Hi,
Although there is no such goverment scheme for heating bills which i really do feel there should be for the disabled but as it stands sadly no goverment aid as such.
As Sweetgiz rightfully said there are grants for insultation etc which can help a great deal but it comes down to whats your household situation, private owned, rented?

Although some energy companies do offer "Discounted tariffs" for those in receipt of disability living allowance.
You do also have to be careful about the social tariffs as sometimes they do actually work out more expensive than other plans that they have on the market, hard to believe but true sadly Sad
Some utility companies also have charity schemes which can ehlp with bills subject to criteria.

Who currently provides your energy?
