We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Hey, if your volunteering it won't effect your benefits as you won't be getting paid. I don't think you will be able to class your son as a placement. The place you do your placement has to have a health n safety certificate and assessor will have to do a risk assessment to see if its ok for you to go in there. there has to be more than two members of staff as some things you need to get assessed on require two people-like hoisting. You should go for it, well worth having. If your unsure you could speak to the collages, providers etc. Where else where you thinking of volunteering for? Xx

Yeah tbh you can do whatever you want there are so many units in the nvqs you can pick from in an nvq. You will probably need to get a crb and p.o.v.a check done before you can start. Health & social care is mainly aimed at adults and if you want to work with children you will need an nvq level 2/3 in childcare xx
