We have all had concerns ranging from education,acess to services,respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

dla letter

hi i applied for dla for my son almost 8 weeks ago, today we recieved a letter just saying sorry they have not gave us a decision yet but will deal with our claim asap and write back to us asap!! is this a bad thing? does this mean i should expect to be turned down? did you recieve this letter then be turned down/awarded?? i was awarded high rate care after 7 weeks for my 5 year old son and never recieved a letter like this!

Dont worry many people recieve this letter.
Usually means they are now writing to the proffesionals involved Smile
So you could possibly say it was a good thing

i never got a letter like that when i got it for amy and it never took that long me and the health visitor filled it is and in about 4 weeks we got a letter back saying that they are giving her the higher rate dla x but as you have been given the higher rate cares you most get something from dla because why would hey give you the higher rate cares and nothing for dla x
