Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

cheapsensorytoys
Corinne,
I would have gone to bed at 7pm and then kept getting up to see to him Big Grin
In regards to filling in the forms online i would be delighted to assist you if you require any assistance on any of it.
With many DLA cases its sometimes a case of the right words being used to describe conditions in a more detailed way.

For example a parent may right:

My son goes to bed at 12 and i wake a few times.

Whereas wording this with information such as:

We go to bed at around 7pm and my son will take several hours to go to sleep during this time he will be in a state of distress and requires attention for several hours.
The attention my son requires to enable him to sleep and be settled includes:
1)Restraining to prevent harm to himself and others.
2)List further details

By doing this you are detailing a full profile of your child and it makes the application easier for the person reading it and gives a very clear picture.

Liv,
In regards to the nightcare im not sure 3 nights would be enough to qualify but i shall check the caselaw for this and come back to you

I am finding these questions soo difficult , like this one "Does the child need help being understood by other ppl" , he does but i just find it hard to word this , and i feel like alot of the questions are kinda the same , i have mentioned abotu 10times soo far in other questions about his lack of speech and his poor concentration and focus and how this affects having a chat with him or him listening. I have spent 2 days trying to fill this in now and am only onto this question. i offen wish you just had to answer a few basic questions and then they came round your house and had a face to face chat cos i find it alot easier to explain everything to someone when they are here and also they could meet him!

Grrrrr i shall struggle on xx

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
