I am waiting on the tribunal doing a paper appeal. How long does this take?? we have been waiting 4 weeks . They have all the letter from conulatants , specialist ,OT.We also have a copy of all our paper work.I cant go to an oral tribunal as have other Children and no transport. Im finding this whole thing a waste of time and im getting annoyed. My son can walk but with aids and its difficult as he has trouble walking and also cant see the ground. He need lots of attention and supervision.

Oral tribunals firstly are MUCH MUCH MORE succesful and if at all possible i URGE you to take a face to face oral tribunal rather than a paper tribunal.

Some recent statistics confirm this:

55.2% of oral hearings were decided in favour of the appellant and only 28.7% of written hearings were successful.
65.2% of hearings where the appellant was accompanied were successful.

As you can see it makes a major diffrence to the outcome.
You say your son can walk with aids do you mind me asking what aids?

Can he walk without aids and how long in terms of distance?

Did the application for DLA take advice from your doctors or specialist?

How far does he typically walk in them 10 minutes before using the rolator?

Its about 15/ 20 meters i think not good with how far.He is very slow as he has hemipegia and also cant see the ground so its difficult. Most days he uses the rolator all the time as he uses that to feel the ground for changes and uses his seeing cane when in shops , or in buildings as the ground is smooth and he can feel changes with his rolator.
