The disability living allowance have a duty to comile reports from all the availible services and school is one which they do seek reports from. Also school reports do carry a fair bit of weight in the process so they do also take into account school reports but that does not mean they always follow them though. thanks for the replys. i hope they dont have to do this in my case. he is getting kept back a year because he cannot cope in year one. he has all his reports from the paed. dont they go off what they say. in know when i asked school to write a report for my son they didnt say much about what help he dose need only that he has made progress. he is receving help from 2 other teachers and help with his speach and language. i am scared they will refuse my son dla because he has made progress. but he hasnt made enought to move up in year one. he has help with personal care at home and i have just spoke to his grandad and he has deffenty said he struggles with getting dressed and reminding to brush his teeth and at home he only brushes them a little bit so i have to brush them for him. he is due to see cahms aswell.
