Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Hi

sorry to bombard in your conversation - Corrine mentioned about the CRB thing and the PA not having to be cleared.

My situation - i have had an assement put in place already and am recieving the money at the moment for the direct payments, but i am waiting for my mum, and my partners dad's CRB's to be cleared (they have already been done for their current emplyment) so just wonderd whether i could start paying them now or do i have to wait for the CRBs to be cleared?

Thanks

Usually a CRB check is valid for a set amout of time.
Take a copy of the CRB check for your records along with receipts etc and this should be fine Smile

whether it is different for children as m8s son is now over 18 but we were told same thing and matt is still under child services, that if we had somebody found for us to be a PA they would need to be crb checked but if we used our own then it was up to us if we trusted the person enough not to need a crb (was going to use brother in law). considering how long it can take for the check you would have to give the money back lol it runs from April to April here. the person who friend uses has a crb check for her job but hasnt had a seperate one done to be friends sons PA as she is a friend.

There comes a point in your life when you realize:Who matters,Who never did,Who won't anymore...And who always will..
So, don't worry about people from your past, there's a reason why they didn't make it to your future.
