We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Carers allowance and Income support
cheapsensorytoys
I have been alerted to a computer error which has resulted in many people losing money.
The DSS have been taking too much carers allowance into account when working out the income support.
People are currently getting some payments made into there accounts.
Maybe worth calling the benefits service to see if you are within this error and if you are owed anything.

Thanks daniel for that. It's awful how the carers allowance gets taken off income support in the first place, they give you the money in one hand, and take it out of the other Sad

The carers allowance does get taken off but what the super duper new systems did not have set up was the carers premium that should be added. So you should be getting a premium of I think its £29 a week. So check it out because the system will take ages to contact everyone and right the problem.

So to confirm the Carers premium has not been added correctly?
Is this to all claims or a case of new claims made after a certain date?

As you work for them Big Grin Is it something that the whole department are aware of and have been briefed on?
