Announcement

Families who have children and young people with special needs very often deal with similar life styles. We have all had concerns ranging from education, acess to services, respite and other issues directly related to their childrens needs. Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

Relationships can be hard when you have a child with special needs.
Me and Lucy know people have split up because of the stresses involved and its heart breaking to see.
Take things one step at a time and call the doctors and see what they say and ensure they have your mobile number if the doctor isnt there.
Try to avoid getting too stressed and allow your partner to call up later for you and get him involved with it aswell.
Its essential you are both on the same hymm sheet in order to go forward.
What do you think is causing the stresses in your relationship at the moment?

at the moment i think its im giving 100% to trying help jack an in a way i feel my partner dont understand he has 3 children who's never had any problems so i end up snapping when hes trying give me advice

its silly really although we only been together 2years he was there for jacks first word, even helped jack take his first step but i feel like he will never understand the stress when its you own child even tho he treats my boys like his own

the pead rang earlier missed first call but shee rang back while i was on phone to mark so he heard everything an we actually got on when i dropped few bits to work. i think its the not knowing whats wrong and feeling like wish we could do more

pead said his head is above average but not to worry, the development test he scored low on most things speech, gross an fine motor skills well pretty much every thing Sad she said it could have been a bad day for him but then after speaking to salt she not sure

i came straight out an asked do you think jack could be on autistic spectrum she said she wants to talk to salt monday see what she thinks as salt had a secret meeting with school head then ring monday.
salt said other week she positive it just speech so looks like il have a fight on my hands aswell as headteacher complete 2faced c*w makes out she all concerned then to other people makes it seem like im making things sound OTT

Secret meetings behind your back Dodgy
Shocking that truly is! Angry
I would ask them out right what was discussed in that meeting!
If they wont tell you request a data protection release of your sons record that will scare them .... 9
