Advice for disability after been turned down?
cheapsensorytoys
I applied for DLA when T was 9 months, 2 years and 4 years and I've been turned down everytime. I was thinking that now we have a diagnosis on the back/leg pain, that we might be worth re-applying. Even if it was just enough to help with hospital visits.

Do you have any tips? I struggle because some days she's not too bad, she can walk, she can get herself dressed and run around with her friends, then other days she can't move at all below her waist, she loses control of her bladder, she's in pain, she gets back spasms....how do I go about filling in the forms?

Once again, sorry for the questions!

Just to try and get an over-all picture of the needs.

What to you is an average day broken down into hour slots?
I.e
7am-
8am-

Know it might sound tough to list these but if you can i could offer guidance in regards to the possible care rate you maybe entitled to.

This is where we have the problem. On a good day she doesn't need any extra help, apart from cleaning her up when she falls over (her left leg turns inwards because of the twisted pelvis) and maybe sitting on a chair at school.
On a bad day, she can't get herself out of bed. She literally can't move and if she does, she sits screaming with back spasms. If she tries to walk her legs just give out from under her, a nightmare if she's decided to try and come downstairs on her own and her legs go, she then ends up falling down the stairs. She's forever covered in bruises because she can fall over 10-15 times a day. On a bad day she will wet herself, simply because she can't get herself to the toilet and I think the pains overtake her bladder control.

My Grandma doesn't think we're entitled to anything, and if that's the case then that's ok, although a bit of help would be nice. I lost my last job because I was off soo much with her Sad

How many good days and bad days do you get a week?
Your grandma may well be wrong as i hear so many people say you wont be entitled to anything when it all reality people usually are.
Ive heard so called benefit advisers say no you cant get this and that when you CAN.

She is often in mild pain everyday, moderate pain (legs giving out now and then and the odd achy hips and back) maybe 5 days out of the week, severe pain is maybe 1 day, it can vary so much. She's had 17 days off school since Christmas because of her hips. When it's really bad, she can't walk to school. It's a lot worse when she's ill, she had the swine flu jab in Dec and got swine flu in Jan/Feb and she was in agony for weeks.
