Parents of disabled children bring families together for friendship, to share information and to support one another.

The forum was created by parents who have children with special needs and is run by parents so we are all in this together. With us you will realise you are not alone

Parents of disabled children launched in October 2009 and we are growing day by day and are fastly becoming a major support resource for all

One of my friends has a four-year old little boy recently diagnosed with 15q 13.3 microdeletion. At the moment her little one presents autistic characteristics and mental retardation (speech development delays) She lives in France, does not know anybody who has a child with the same condition and would be grateful if she could get in touch with someone who has a child diagnosed with 15q 13.3 microdeletion, to be able to chat about day-to-day life, treatment, therapies etc

Is there anyone here that can help?
Thank you very much

Hiya, I have come across your message while searching for info on this deletion. I have an 8 yr old with the same 15q 13.3 microdeletion and i dont know anyone else who has a child with this. You can pass on my details if you like for you friend if they would like to contact me. It would also me nice for me to have someone to talk too who understands how i feel and visa versa.

Hi, my 4 yr old daughter Beth has 15q13.3 micro duplication ( we are still waiting for a diagnosis as her dad has the dame duplication with no symptoms, so they are reluctant to give my daughter this as a diagnosis) ... Hope that makes sense!! I don't know how this differs from the deletion, but she displays autistic behaviours and developmental delay. She also has fixations on things.....it used to be she had to carry something red and blue (and it was almost always duplo bricks!!) now everything has to be in 4's.... 4 jigsaw pieces or 4 toy figures.... I don't know. If that's an autistic thing or a Beth thing!! Please get in touch if you think I can help your friend, it would be nice to hear of another persons experience with 15q. Xxxx
